Where is Whichowo?

People tell me I live in my own world, so eventually I gave it a name: Welcome to the White Chocolate Wonderland.

It's not an easy place to find,
but listen to me, you'll see;
follow your soul and lose your mind.

White Chocolate Wonderland features the work of J Christopher, aka 'of1000kings'.

I’m an @threadless addict and a political extremist, so there was no way this challenge was slipping by without a submission.  (Liberty + Equality)/Authority = Power to the people.

As with my other recent organic type compositions the original drawing is Sharpie marker on 18” x 24” drawing paper with a bit of white acrylic paint for touching up. I have to say, I worked a lot in the past few months drawing on my tablet but man it feels good to get back to traditional pen-and-paper.

Thanks for the @Threadless support

boys and girls!

My recent organic type composition ‘And This Tee Shall Pass’ picked up a tidy little score of 2.69.  That’s actually my highest score aside from the ‘Count the Time’ Sesame Street/Atrium challenge which completed recently.  I definitely feel like I’m getting a stronger grasp of my style each and every day, and the enthusiasm for the work seems to be trending up.

Let’s keep climbing that mountain till we reach the Promised Land, fellow Whichowovians.

My most recent organic composition type tee.  The original is sharpie and white acrylic paint on 18” x 24” drawing paper.

I occasionally take on more traditional portrait commissions.  I recently finished this one for the family of a young man who passed.  I hope it can be for them what they want or need it to be.  My focus was on maintaining a ‘glow’; to encourage a smile.
It is approximately 18” x 24”, painted in layers of acrylic paint mixed with water and some thinning medium.  I paint skin in thin, slightly translucent layers to try and recreate the way light hits, penetrates and reflects off real skin.

A failed attempt at self-bunny ears; I plan on throwing these up anytime my picture is snapped.  So, be ready for that.

DA’s Dark Shadow Contest

We Whichowovians put up a diligent fight, as standard, but the DA Dark Shadows blue ribbon shall not find its home in Whichowo.  There’s always today.

You can check out the semi-final 10 here:  http://moonbeam13.deviantart.com/journal/Dark-Shadows-Semi-Finalists-298689722.

Tim Burton (yay!) will be selecting the final three winners; good luck to all.

Tim Burton will have to wait for another day to glance upon the Wonder of Whichowo.

Cheers.

A little something put together for the Threadless Sesame Street competition; Count von Count is always a favorite for me.
